My Podcast!!!!!!!

Well, I've done the podcast and it should be a good laugh, because I probably said a load of rubbish at times, being a bit nervous and all. ;D

Charon is quite right your design skills are immense ;)

Good podcast!

How is the pupillage search coming along?

I didn't realise you were so hot! Well done on the podcast.

It was nice talking to you, Charon!

Lost, thank youu :)) In relation to the pupillage quest, I'm just drafting and re-drafting my olpas answers at the moment. The portal has been down all day today, so good job I saved the answers!

Are you applying this year?

Anon, why, thank you, I'm flattered! ;D

Russians are generally hot :)
Da da da.

I can't be bothered applying this year, I don't have much to show for the past two years, but perhaps next year if I get onto my M.Phil and I have completed all my Summer Law projects then I'll have something very good to apply with!

I agree with anon. On both counts. Is anybody applying to Crown Office Chambers (non-olpas end of April deadline). The form is pretty tough..

Loved the podcast!

How exotic and sultry you sound, Andro! You shall have judges eating out of your hand and opposing counsel begging for mercy!
Excellent podcast!

Great to put a voice to the mind finally! I really enjoyed the podcast and am pleased you discovered the baddies of the pupillage world. Hopefully chambers have ears to hear you...!

Guys, I can't believe that after showering me with compliments, you quietly rated this post as boring! :D Just kidding of course. Thank you soooo much!!!!

Lost, spasibo! ;D

I still think you should give it ago, even if it's just for the sake of practice. What if you get a couple of interviews out of it as well?

Pupilpedia, I've just had alook on their pupillage section of the website out of interest, and it looks pretty comprehensive. Good luck on perfecting their app form!

Oliver, thank you! :)

Minxy, haha, thank you!! :) You're too kind! Your podcast is unbeatable though!

LawGirl, thanks! :) Hearing a voice does make a difference. For instance, I know read Minx's blog in her dialect! :D

Andro - Brilliant pupillage awaits ye at the set you missed before - I am sure of it

Pupilpedia - Train at the set of Nicolarse De Larsey Brownfinger? YUCK (Although I had a funny feeling he might be gone by the next pupillage intake)

Congrats on your podcast. I thought it was good. I do have one question though... why do you not have a more legal orientated job? The thought crossed my mind when I heard your podcast.

Andro - you read my blog in MY Accent?! Have you no SHAME, for mine is an accent that can shatter glass at ten paces! I would much prefer to sound like you!
Hm... Perhaps I shall start reading your blog aloud while attempting to affect your sultry accent ( attempt will be the word of course - I am sure I shall end up sounding like Janet Street Porter on Entonox!!)

Oh god! I had forgotten that he was there. Maybe I will now think again. As much as a pupillage there would be fantastic, could you really imagine being in the same building as that thing? He really did epitomise everything from which the Bar should be moving away.

Android said...

Ginge, I wish! :)

Oh dear... that guy, did he really get a pupillage?! I thought they kicked him out on the grounds of bad reputation for their chambers!

Pupilpedia, you should meet someone from my BVC year, who got fired from a paralegal job, because people could not tolerate him anymore! I'm surprised he didn't get on to this year's Apprentice!

Minxy, have you listened to any of the Oliver Smith's podcasts on his blog? :D

Android said...

Aspiring Rainmaker, thanks for your comment! :) When I started looking for a legal job after the BVC, I was faced with 2 problems - not enought experience for paralegal positions, and over-qualified for legal secretaries. Few months later I really needed a job, so I got my current one through an agency. Then the recession thingy was announced and the redundancies followed, so I was and am still glad to be in a job which, in the current economic climate, offers some kind of security. I mentioned this before, but we actually have an LPC graduate on my team, who worked as a paralegal for 3 years (and was a fee earner) before being made redundant! Anyway, (sorry for such a long response) I know my job is not legal (but it's not illegal before you ask!), but for the time being it will do. I get on well with my colleagues, it keeps me busy and, most importantly, I get paid every 4 weeks! :)

Pupilpedia said...

How many CVs have you sent off for paralegal jobs? They come around so quickly that it's worth sending them every month to the same firms. You'll then be on their radar and they'll call you when they get a vacancy. Better than funeral services I'd've thought? Although I don't know, it sounds quite macabre, maybe it suits you!

Android said...

Pupilpedia, thanks for the advice. :)

In the past, I have sent off quite a few CVs and application forms, had some interviews but nothing came out if it. I think I'll concentrate on pupillage applications for the time being, and then start my job search again in a couple of months.

P.s. I don't actually see dead bodies, I just oversee the financial side of death. :)

Pupilpedia said...

That's even worse! The financial side of death. Nice. Do you take a cut yourself?

Android said...

What do you mean, P? :)

Pupilpedia said...

I was thinking that perhaps you had managed to wangle some money from your client's estates?!

Hm - ever thought of a career with TSol?!?!?! ( he is a very nice man, you know, and a bencher of our inn!!)
