In a recent Law Society Gazette article, Desmond Browne QC said that they're looking at options including 'a campaign in police stations, magistrates’ courts and prison newspapers, advertising entitlement to a barrister'.
I can totally see the 2.5 minute adverts in the style of the Co-operative movement, in the middle of Coronation Street (which cost Co-op some £70 million). ;D
No, really - I actually think that a campaign is a good idea. Asking solicitors to mention the Bar in the client care letters, on the other hand, is a bit desperate. I just hope that they'll hire professionals to work on their campaign, to avoid creating another Portal.

If the Bar doesn't come out of its corner swinging and SOON, it will be finally flattened with one enormous Sucker Punch and will, thereafter be found wandering around the streets of Legal London muttering, to anyone who will listen ' I could have been a contenter'......!!!
